Lupetto

Madre terra

Mother earth you nourished the roots and grew, plants and flowers,
the air perfumed, and you were rich in colors
you were beautiful, you were enchanted in all places,
our ancestors respected you, you loved you were life:
with the yoke and the oxen and the plow,
the fields prepared for sowing;
women with delicate hands cultivated them,
sang and some prayed to God,
contented themselves with what God gave.
Their lands loved, they did not pollute,
now that sweet balance has changed,
mother earth so mistreated:
earth, rivers, seas and sky have polluted.
Mother earth you are alive!
Like everything that the eyes have looked at,
mother earth you are alive, but now man has changed.
